The Celtic Manor in Newport, South Wales has two resort hotels and one country inn that focus on golf. It has three current courses including the Twenty Ten, Roman Road and The Montgomerie. It hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup and the Wales Open three years in a row.

The three championship golf courses are a golfer’s paradise. There are also two large clubhouses and an academy. The Newbridge on Usk is a country inn with an awarding winning-restaurant. The Celtic Manor also offers excellent facilities in their 1,500 seat convention centre with a wide variety of meeting rooms, break-out spaces, and an exhibition centre.

There are many other activities at The Celtic Manor especially for children. The Forest Jump is a challenging obstacle course with two levels of activity where everybody is Tarzan for a couple of hours. There are high and low rope courses, walkways, bridges as well as wood, rope and wire obstacles in the trees. The higher level course ends with a zipline for an exhilarating ride.

Adventure Golf is a game of putting with challenges for all ages. There are two nine-hole courses which have water hazards, rafts, bridges and other things to make the putting on the high quality greens challenging and fun. It is also a great activity for corporation day-outs and team building activities.

There is a wide range of dining options on the premises including gourmet cuisine using fresh, local ingredients, a grill in the Twenty Ten clubhouse, informal international cuisine overlooking the Roman Road course, a charming, secluded, authentic French bistro as well as many other options. Celtic Manor offers several bars and lounges including a relaxed sports bar, a lounge with old world charm, a piano bar with panoramic views and live music most evenings.

There is a first class luxury spa at the Celtic Manor that offers pampering and serenity to ease away tension. The focus is well-being with therapeutic and beauty treatments. Sixteen treatment rooms offer total privacy, and the Forum Spa was awarded the Best UK Hotel Spa of 2011. Also included is a 40-station gym, saunas, spa bath, steam rooms, plunge pools, hairdressing salon and a 20 metre swimming pool.

The accommodations in the hotels offer all the five star amenities to be expected including satellite TV and free WiFi in public areas. Other activities that can be arranged are clay pigeon shooting, mountain biking, tennis and fishing. For those who would like to see some of the local sites, Cardiff is close-by with excellent shopping and unique Victorian Arcades. The Usk Valley is an Area of Outstanding Beauty and the protected area of Brecon Beacons National Park is also nearby with many other outdoor activities. The Celtic Manor is a good starting point to visit some of the magnificent castles and other historical and cultural landmarks in the area.
